What this base actually needs from a mover

MCLB Albany is a logistics installation. Fewer families than a flying wing, longer gaps between “orders in hand” and “keys to a house.”

  • E-1 to E-5 singles go to barracks. Officers have no BOQ aboard — they live in town from day one.
  • Inbound household-goods deliveries can arrive before housing is ready. Someone may need to meet that delivery or arrange temporary storage and a later local move.

So the jobs we get from this base: PPM into a Leesburg rental, unload a household-goods delivery into storage when housing is not ready, then a second short haul when housing clears.

PPM on a logistics base

A personally procured move is one option for Albany families who want more control over the timing of their move. If you are approved for a PPM, follow your orders and military transportation guidance regarding required documentation, weight tickets, receipts, and reimbursement.

  • Keep required empty and full weight tickets.

  • Weight tickets still matter for a PPM reimbursement, not how full the truck looked on Putnam.
  • We work Monday–Friday and crews are scheduled to be done by 5:00 p.m.
