School, College & University Movers Built for South Georgia Campuses

Moving a classroom is different from moving a house. Schools have departments, schedules, administrators, furniture, equipment, storage needs and buildings that still have to function while the work is being done. HHG Movers helps public schools, private schools, colleges and universities plan and complete organized institutional moves throughout South Georgia.

Classrooms Furniture, teaching materials and room-to-room moves.
Campus Departments Administrative and academic office relocations.
Renovations Move out, hold if needed, then return when spaces reopen.
Student Housing Dorm furniture and institutional housing projects.
Storage Warehouse options for approved institutional projects.
Real South Georgia Experience

We Are Not Learning School Moves From a Website

HHG Movers has performed moving work for schools and colleges across South Georgia. That matters because an educational move often involves more people, more rooms, more coordination and less room for confusion than a typical household move.

Institutional Moving

A School Move Is Usually More Than One Kind of Move

One project may involve classrooms, administrative offices, storage rooms, libraries, student housing and furniture that has to be staged around a renovation. We review the actual scope before assigning the crew, trucks and schedule.

Classroom Moves

Desks, chairs, tables, shelving, teaching materials and ordinary classroom furnishings.

School Renovations

Clear rooms or wings before construction and return approved contents when the space is ready.

Department Moves

Move administrative or academic departments from one building, floor or campus location to another.

Libraries

Tables, chairs, carts, shelving and boxed materials planned around the institution's organization system.

Dorm Furniture

Beds, desks, dressers, tables and other approved institutional housing furniture.

Administrative Offices

Desks, conference furniture, filing systems and ordinary office contents.

Furniture Receiving

Approved institutional furniture receiving, storage and delivery projects can be reviewed with HHG in advance.

Warehouse Storage

Temporary professionally managed warehouse storage can bridge construction, scheduling or occupancy gaps.

Renovations & Summer Projects

Move It Out. Do the Work. Put It Back.

Educational buildings do not always relocate permanently. Sometimes the job is simply getting furniture and contents out of the way so flooring, painting, construction or a full renovation can happen.

Clear the Space

HHG can move approved furnishings and contents out of classrooms, offices, common areas or other project spaces.

Hold What Needs Holding

When the institution does not have suitable on-campus staging space, warehouse storage can be reviewed as part of the project.

Return & Place

When construction is complete, we can coordinate return delivery and placement according to the agreed room or department plan.

Summer is not the only time schools move.

We can plan school and university projects around the institution's actual operating calendar. HHG Movers operates Monday through Friday.

Project Planning

The Plan Comes Before the Truck

A small department move may be simple enough to scope from a floor plan, photos or video walkthrough. Larger, multi-building or more complicated institutional projects may need an in-person walkthrough so we can understand access, inventory, staging and the sequence of the move before quoting.

1

Define the Scope

Tell us which buildings, rooms, departments or furnishings are involved.

2

Review the Project

We may use plans, photos, video or an in-person walkthrough depending on the size and complexity.

3

Build the Plan

Establish crew, trucks, packing, sequencing, storage and any multi-day requirements.

4

Written Quote

HHG provides a written scope and price based on the project we reviewed.

5

Move by Plan

The crew works from the agreed schedule, destination and placement instructions.

Before We Quote

What HHG Needs From the School or University

One Project Contact

Identify the person who can answer questions and make decisions about inventory, access, placement and schedule.

Origin & Destination

Building names, room numbers, floors, loading areas and any elevator, dock or access requirements.

What Is Actually Moving

Furniture, boxed contents, ordinary equipment, shelving, files, dorm furniture and any unusually large or heavy pieces should be identified.

What HHG Is Not Disconnecting

IT, electrical, plumbing, gas, fixed building systems and specialty equipment should be disconnected or prepared by the appropriate institution personnel or qualified vendor before HHG moves them.

Equipment & Specialty Items

Some Campus Items Need More Review Than a Desk

Schools contain items that range from ordinary office furniture to specialized equipment. We would rather review a difficult item beforehand than make assumptions on moving day.

Type of Item HHG Approach
Desks, chairs, tables & ordinary furniture Standard institutional moving work when access and scope are appropriate.
Computers & electronics The institution or IT provider disconnects equipment first. HHG can move properly prepared equipment within the agreed scope.
Copiers & vendor-serviced machines Manufacturer or vendor preparation may be required before moving.
Laboratory furniture & ordinary equipment Review in advance. Hazardous materials, chemicals, live systems and specialty scientific equipment are not assumed to be part of normal moving scope.
Pianos & specialty pieces Reviewed under HHG's normal specialty-item capabilities and access limits.
Very heavy, oversized or fixed equipment Must be reviewed before quoting so HHG can determine whether the item, building access and required equipment fit our operation.
Protect the Building

The School Still Has to Look Like a School When We Leave

Institutional moves can involve long hallways, doorways, elevators and repeated trips through the same traffic paths. Protecting the building is part of planning professional moving work.

Floor Protection

Appropriate floor runners and surface protection are used for full-service work based on the building and conditions.

Entry Protection

High-traffic entrances, doorways and other vulnerable areas are reviewed as part of setup.

Furniture Protection

Wood furniture is blanket-wrapped and upholstered furniture is protected appropriately for the move.

Pricing

Institutional Projects Are Priced From the Real Scope

A classroom transfer and a multi-building university project are not the same move. Larger school and campus projects are reviewed before HHG commits to the schedule, crew and price.

Local Institutional Moves

Smaller local projects may fit HHG's standard local-moving structure. Local moving with our truck starts at $224/hour for 3 movers or $295/hour for 4 movers, with a 2-hour minimum.

Large / Multi-Day Projects

Campus, renovation, multi-building and more complex institutional projects are reviewed individually so the written quote reflects the actual labor, trucks, sequencing, packing, storage and project requirements.

Labor-Only

When the institution provides the truck, container or transportation, labor-only service starts at $195/hour for 3 movers or $295/hour for 4 movers, with a 3-hour minimum.

Georgia 50+ Miles & Interstate

Moves traveling more than 50 miles within Georgia and interstate projects are quoted with a written flat-rate price after HHG reviews the move.

Frequently Asked Questions

School, College & University Moving Questions

Does HHG Movers move public schools?

Yes. HHG can evaluate classroom, department, building-to-building, renovation and other public-school moving projects throughout our South Georgia service area.

Do you move colleges and universities?

Yes. HHG has performed moving work for South Georgia colleges and universities and can review campus departments, administrative offices, student housing, classroom furniture, renovation projects and other approved institutional moves.

Can HHG move one department without relocating the whole school?

Yes. Many institutional moves involve only one department, classroom group, office suite, wing or building.

Can a small department move be quoted without an in-person walkthrough?

Often, yes. Depending on the size and complexity, HHG may be able to review a small project using a floor plan, photos or video. Larger, multi-building or more complicated projects may require an in-person walkthrough before quoting.

Can you move furniture out for a renovation and bring it back later?

Yes. HHG can review move-out, temporary warehouse storage and return-delivery projects when the institution needs space cleared for construction or renovation.

Can you move dorm furniture?

Yes. Beds, desks, dressers, tables and other approved dorm or student-housing furniture can be included in an institutional moving project.

Do you move computers and technology?

Properly prepared computers and ordinary electronics can be moved within the agreed scope. The institution's IT department or appropriate vendor should disconnect and prepare equipment before HHG handles it.

Do you move laboratory equipment?

Some ordinary laboratory furniture and approved equipment can be reviewed. Hazardous materials, chemicals, live systems, fixed equipment and highly specialized scientific equipment require separate handling and are not automatically part of normal moving service.

Can HHG provide a Certificate of Insurance and W-9?

Yes. When a school, university, landlord, facility or procurement office requires standard business documentation for an approved move, HHG can provide the applicable company documentation during project setup.

Do you work weekends?

HHG Movers operates Monday through Friday. We do not schedule standard moving service on weekends.

How do we get a school or university moving quote?

Start with the project location, approximate inventory, buildings or rooms involved, desired timeline and any storage or specialty requirements. Small projects may be reviewed by floor plan, photos or video. Larger institutional projects may require an in-person walkthrough before HHG prepares the written quote.

Bring Us the Building Plan Before Moving Day.
