Move the Business Without Losing the Business
Commercial moving is not about carrying desks from one building to another. It is about getting employees, furniture, files, equipment and workstations from Point A to Point B with a plan that keeps downtime under control.
Commercial Capabilities
The Hard Part Is Usually Not the Furniture
The hard part is knowing what moves first, what has to stay operational, where each department goes, what can be staged early and what cannot be touched until the last minute.
Downtime
The move plan should focus on how quickly the business can become functional at the new location — not simply how fast the old office can be emptied.
Sequence
Reception, workstations, files, conference rooms, stock rooms and management offices may need to move in a specific order.
Destination Control
Every desk and carton is easier to place when departments, rooms and workstations are clearly labeled before loading begins.
From a Small Office to a Multi-Department Relocation
HHG Movers can scale the crew and equipment around the actual commercial project.
Offices
Private offices, open workspaces, reception areas, conference rooms, break rooms and records.
Cubicles & Workstations
Disassembly, relocation and reassembly of standard office workstations and modular furniture.
Retail
Store fixtures, displays, boxed inventory, back-room contents and furniture relocation.
Medical Offices
Office furniture, waiting rooms, records, administrative spaces and movable non-installed equipment.
Schools & Universities
Classrooms, offices, furniture, boxed materials, department moves and campus relocation projects.
Warehouses
Commercial furniture, boxed inventory, equipment and operational contents that can be safely moved with our equipment.
Hotels & FF&E
Furniture, fixtures and equipment placement for renovations, replacements and property projects.
Professional & Government Offices
Department relocations, records, office furniture and planned moves where organization matters as much as labor.
Build the Move Before Moving Day
The more organized the project is before the truck arrives, the less expensive and disruptive the relocation tends to be.
Walk the Origin
Show us offices, workstations, storage rooms, loading access, stairs, elevators and large pieces.
Walk the Destination
We need to know where departments, furniture and equipment are going before the move begins.
Build the Sequence
Decide what moves first, what stays operational longest and what must be ready first at the new location.
Label Everything
Rooms, cartons and workstations should have clear destination names or numbers.
Execute the Move
The crew follows the plan instead of stopping every few minutes to ask where something goes.
A Desk Is Easy. Fifty Desks Need a System.
Office relocations become faster when each employee, office or workstation has a destination before loading starts.
What HHG Movers Can Handle
- Desks, chairs and office furniture
- Conference tables and reception furniture
- Standard cubicles and workstations
- Filing cabinets and boxed records
- Copiers and movable office equipment
- Break-room furniture and contents
- Computers, monitors and electronics once safely powered down and prepared for transport
Let IT Handle IT
For servers, network racks, mounted electronics and technical systems, the customer's IT staff or vendor should disconnect, prepare and reconnect the equipment. HHG Movers can move properly prepared equipment as part of the relocation plan.
Move in Phases When One Big Move Does Not Make Sense
Commercial moves do not always have to happen in one giant push. Some businesses are better served by staging the move in logical groups.
Phase 1: Non-Essentials
Extra furniture, archived files, supplies and items that are not needed for daily operations can move first.
Phase 2: Departments
Teams or work areas can be relocated in a planned order so the entire company is not offline at the same time.
Phase 3: Final Operations
Critical workstations and remaining operational areas can move after the new space is ready to receive them.
Disassemble It, Move It, Put It Where It Belongs
Commercial projects frequently involve more than lifting complete pieces. Standard office systems may need to come apart before they can leave the building.
Workstations
Standard modular desks and cubicles can be disassembled for transport and reassembled at the destination when included in the scope.
Furniture Placement
Office furniture, hospitality furniture and commercial pieces can be placed according to the room or destination plan.
FF&E Projects
For furniture, fixtures and equipment projects, HHG Movers can assist with receiving-side movement, placement and relocation of movable items within our capabilities.
Label the Destination — Not Just the Contents
Commercial packing works best when every carton tells the unloading crew where it belongs.
Office Packing
Files, books, desk contents, break-room items and office supplies can be packed as part of the commercial project.
Department Labeling
Use department names, room numbers or workstation numbers so cartons go directly to their destination.
Partial Packing
Your employees can pack personal desk contents while HHG Movers handles shared areas, records, kitchens or other common spaces.
Not Everything Has to Go to the New Space on Day One
Renovations, lease gaps and phased relocations can leave furniture or equipment with nowhere useful to go.
Climate-Controlled Warehouse Storage
Commercial furniture and eligible movable contents can be stored off-site when the destination is not ready or the project is being completed in phases.
8×16 On-Site Container
For properties with suitable placement space, an on-site container can provide temporary project storage at $300 up front plus $150 per month. HHG Movers does not transport it while loaded.
We Can Fit Into a Larger Project
Some commercial moves are part of a renovation, tenant turnover, office buildout or furniture replacement rather than a traditional “we are moving the whole company” relocation.
Good Uses for a Commercial Moving Crew
- Office tenant relocations
- Furniture removal and replacement
- Department or floor transfers
- School and campus furniture projects
- Hotel and hospitality furniture projects
- Retail resets and relocations
- Temporary moves during renovation work
One Point of Contact Makes the Project Easier
For larger commercial work, give us one person who can answer destination, access and scope questions. That keeps the field crew moving instead of chasing several different instructions during the project.
Heavy & Specialty Commercial Items
We move a lot of heavy and specialty pieces, but we would rather define the limits before the crew arrives than create a bad surprise at the jobsite.
No Hoisting
HHG Movers does not hoist furniture or equipment through windows, balconies or elevated openings.
No Pianos Upstairs
We can move many pianos when access is appropriate, but we do not move pianos up or down stairs.
No Safes Upstairs
We can move many gun safes and heavy pieces at ground level with appropriate access, but we do not move safes up or down stairs.
Commercial Moves Need a Scope — Not a Guess
A commercial quote should reflect the actual project: crew size, number of trucks, furniture systems, access, packing, equipment, move sequence and destination requirements.
The Better the Information, the Better the Commercial Move Plan
Have these details ready when possible.
Origin Details
Building access, loading dock or parking, stairs, elevators, office count, furniture systems, storage rooms and heavy equipment.
Destination Details
Where each department or room will go, loading access, elevator rules and whether furniture needs reassembly or placement.
Business Priorities
What must remain operational, what can move early, the target completion window and any deadlines tied to leases, contractors or reopening.
